Recent update : there is no longer karaoke on Thursdays . But they do have open mic piano bar on Tuesdays . Other than that everything else is pretty much the same !

Customer service was great That's why I gave it three stars. As far as the food was not impressed I ordered my steak medium It came out well done and charred and crispy My wife ordered the black and red snapper which was also over seasoned and dry. Other than that it was okay but I will never get a steak here again.

Updated review: Val's is crowded again. Back when the pandemic was raging, I was the only customer in there. There's now a 15 minute wait for a table. Tonight I had the prime rib, regular cut $36. The food here is good. I enjoyed it more than the last place I went to. The service here was lacking because it was so crowded. My waiter disappeared after my food arrived. The busser refilled my water on a regular basis. I needed more au jus. Luckily the busser was able to help me. Good job staff at Val's. Original review: We are glad Val's is opened for indoor dining again. (8/4/2021) We had the onion soup, pancetta shrimp, prime rib and southern fried chicken. Service was as expected and their cocktails weren't bad. There weren't that many people having dinner but the bar was full. We chose to eat in the bar room instead of the main dining room because of the televisions. The Olympics were on and it was nice to have something in the background. The only minor nit was the southern fried chicken. When I bit into the drumstick, a bunch of oil exploded and some of it fell onto my shoes. They were limited Jun Takahashi x Nike. I'm kind of upset about having this weird oil stain on my shoes.

This restaurant is Around the corner from my house. Ive been coming here to eat every once in a while for the last 4 years and I have never have a bad experience. Servers are always nice and food is tasty. I love the old fashion atmosphere here. Not the ultimate millenial- hispster everyone is looking for. I am glad it is still open during Covid. Please support small businesses like this one. Restaurant industry is still suffering. Businesses like Vals are really important for the community as they provide employment for a many low income families. I want my children to have a place like this one when they grow older. I had a margarita and a take our order and everything was delicious.

I haven't been there this year. They did last year.
LoL not sure, but dirty martini are great. Been going to Val's for over 60 year's
this answer applies to the lounge area/bar. yes, as long as your pet is controlled and more than likely on a leash. basically not running around loose. at any place of business, if you have your license for your pet, I'm pretty positive that your pet is allowed to be with you. just so as long as it is okay with the establishment.
Really good food, attentive service and reasonable prices at this classic family venue.
Call Val's and ask them. Customers do NOT memorize the menu.
I have no idea, but if I had to guess it is because it cost more for the owner to only be open for take out and there is not enough profit.
I think it's about 10 oz for the regular cut. I personally believe it's a lot for one person. Just last week, my cousin thought it was small, even when she saw it, but she barely finished it lol Cost-wise, I remember when it was only $21 for the smaller prime rib. Now I think it's like $27 or so...
