Wonderful walking trails, biking trails and horse riding trails. Beautiful scenery and natural habitats. It's one of my absolute favorite places.

I have been coming here for over 50 years, first with parents later with my children, now with wife!! We stayed in treehouse couple years ago and it was perfect. Today we stayed at the caretakers cottage and it was really nice, great fire pit lots of beds, modern kitchen and bathroom.

Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is a huge park located in Swanton close to Toledo Airport. This park has bicycle trails in miles and miles along with walking trails. It has a beautiful kids playing area and a lake in the middle of the park. It is a great attraction point where you will see many deer roaming around. It is so much peaceful as it is away from the crowded area and the city. Highly recommended place to visit near Toledo area.

Went to hike and see the Tree House Village. What an Amazing place!! We are so lucky to have such a beautiful Metropark!

Yes, it is currently a public area, under construction though.
The only wolves you'll find in Ohio are in captivity. You'd have to go to the Upper Peninsula to see them.
The second lake is Evergreen Lake. If you come into the park from Wilkins Rd. going south, you'll come to a stop sign. You'll see the lodge and a sign welcoming you to Oak Opening. To get to Mallard Lake, you would turn right, go about 1/4 mile, then turn right into the parking lot for the Lake. To get to Evergreen, you would turn left at the stop sign, continue on a good 1/2- 3/4 mile. You will have another stop sign and the road will be 295. Turn right, go 1/4 mile and go right again into Evergreen Lake parking lot. Hope this helps
there are some at various spots. the evergreen lake entrance is least crowded or the spring brook area. mallard lake has some areas with tables
There are gravel trails. I don't believe that there is too much elevation to the trails, but they're rather flat and easy to walk.
The bathrooms were open last month when were there.
No, you cannot. The State Forest is just down the road.
A lot of the trails are very soggy after rain. Some have boardwalk portions, but you will definitely get your shoes muddy on most of the trails.
I've hiked through what seemed like a swimming area, but sadly no real swimming area.
Try the orage trail across wilkins road.
