I set up a loved one to move here about a month ago. I saw MANY ALFs (mainly in Broward). When I saw the Atrium, I knew my search was done -it just made sense to make the commute from Broward. First and foremost, John Zimmerman (sales/marketing director) does not pressure you and is very down to earth. I feel he did not use any smoke and mirrors and gave it to us straight. The residents have the ability to walk outside in a safe gated courtyard when they would like. The property is clean. There are many activities - but I don't mean that they have a calendar up and nothing ever happens. There is a very busy Bingo, poker, book club, and soooo much more. They are fortunate to have FAU campus VERY close to their location. As such, students are involved to help run these programs. It is great to see young people around. My loved one kept stating that she felt like she was on vacation staying in a hotel and that she is on a permanent vacation! She truly loves it. The nursing and wellness director, Cassandra is amazing. She knows her residents well. Her team is very kind, loving and thoughtful! Emily, Move in coordinator and so much more, is a breath of fresh air. She is kind and thoughtful. Takes her time with all the residents. Michael Graham, who is the executive director is also patient and a real professional. There are many more to mention ...but just know, they are a spectacular team. Go check them out- ask for John!

I have had a few weeks to process the experience I have had with The Atrium of Boca Raton Memory care unit in the last 9 months with my mother. For my mother it was a rollercoaster, and although the facility tried to help in the beginning by the end they were annoyed and frustrated with her. One should never arrive for visits and hear any complaints, EVER. Its unacceptable of those trained and obligated to care for anyone. If you have a parent who is not easy to care for, deter from this facility. They are not capable tending to those who need a little extra care. And the sad part is, most all memory care patients will require a little extra care at some-point. I would also add the in house doctors the facility uses, should be avoided if possible. They are inconsistent, hard to contact and honestly rarely return phone calls. If you should decide using this facility, do your family member a favor and stick with the doctors who know and have a relationship with your loved one. And lastly do not go off of your first impression with facility entrance front desk staff, depending on the day they quite frankly are very rude and act like they are doing you a favor providing entrance to the elevators to get to the memory care floor, which can sometimes take 10 minutes if not longer. If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I would not choose this facility for my mother. She deserved so much more patience and kindness before she passed.

This is a beautiful community! The staff is caring, they have tons of activities, and the food is great.

Some of the rooms are small like motel rooms, but there are some larger rooms that have kitchenettes with sinks, counters, mini fridge, and microwave. No toasters or stovetops are allowed in the rooms.
