If by "cross dresser" you mean drag shows, they do have some amazing people doing great performances. Very talented people. It's pretty good, from my experiences. Really fun, a lot of nice people, but as with any place filled with people drinking... You get the point. Every bar has a few people who get too drunk occasionally and act like an ass, and I've never had any problems at The Max personally, but it's always fun. Very clean and amazing atmosphere, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Just to be forewarned, it is a cash-only bar, and on event nights (so basically every Friday and Saturday) there's usually a cover (unless they've changed that recently), but it isn't much $ for the cover. Hope you check it out and have some fun! If you have any questions, call earlier in the day (but not before they're open). I think they have a Facebook page with all their events and info on those events if you're interested in checking that out.

The max is primarily a gay bar, but on Saturday and Friday night there are lots of straight couples. It's just a very all accepting environment

They could have had a private event. But they have been operating successfully for decades I doubt they would close down for good on a whim.

Fun and usually very busy. Lots of lights, five bars (cash only). They have a dance room and a smaller same floor and stage. Beautiful courtyard outside with a light up fountain. Haven't had any issues here, personally.
