This park is a great place for a picnic. There are many tables under a shelter and it's usually not crowded. There's also a playground which has many games for children. As a bike rider this is a good spot for a quick break while riding through the Neuse River Greenway.

There are some fields, but they are long grass habitat and will eat your drone. Too many trees. Bond park would be much better though it gets windy. Also art museum.
Knightdale station park has a very nice dog park one for small breeds and separate for large breeds

I assume the children's play ground, not the dog park... Probably. Pick a spot and do it. But call Town of Raleigh/Cary/ Apex and ask about rules
There's another spot about 1.5 miles from the canoe launch. There's a bridge that goes between the trail & a spot where people park & fish. But again, you must be doing catch & release unless you want to get sick.
Cottage is close to the Neuse River trail South branch. You have to walk the anderson point loop to get to it.
