Hey Matt, I agree 100 percent. How did it go when you called. Well for me it was painful. The people on the phone were very nice but basically after I called once, they were all unavailable. We are not contractors or electricians. I guess in North Carolina the home owner has to stop service and restart service but no one explains the process in between. Totally unacceptable and very stressful. They finally got moving and solved the problem

I wish I could give them zero stars. Their notification process is absurd and will turn your electric off without even asking questions or reaching out. Their driver came today and put his truck in my front yard while I'm working on my grass. Left tire marks. Meanwhile I live in an hoa community and will probably have to deal with that as well now. Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful.

I’d give them more points but BEMC have one of the highest residential rates in the state. BEMC customers pay 30% more per kWh than the average.

The company issues "credits" to customers after 20 years or so, based on billings for service for a specific year. You can also get low interest loans for energy improvements: insulation, weatherstripping, windows, doors, better HVAC systems, etc.,
