My experience has nothing to do with the quality of plants or their selection, which is huge. It wouldn’t matter how amazing their merchandise was…the woman running the office was so incredibly rude I almost left thinking I had imagined the interaction. I had never been there and simply wanted to ask about putting together a group of herb plants s a large gift for someone. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted, and followed their directions to check in with the office first. I did, and watched said woman bark at several wholesale landscaping folks that they needed to move their vehicles (these too are customers) and then stomp around irritatedly showing people where to walk to pick their plants like it was just SUCH A HARDSHIP for her to do…her job? When it was finally my turn, and I had heard her snap at another customer—this time by phone—I told her what I was looking for she she LITERALLY rolled her eyes at me and told me to go somewhere else. No exaggeration—I’m sure Adcock’s will be fine s large as they are. But they are making a mistake putting someone with absolutely ZERO people skills in the main office handling customer service. A little kindness and the occasional smile goes a long way…and in my experience people remember rudeness and being treated badly for a long time. So while the “smaller” customer not coming back may not hurt Adcock’s, my suspicion is that enough of these folks will post reviews and word will travel around the community eventually. Too bad. Beautiful setup. Hardworking garden staff. And the horrendous attitude of the one staff member handling customer service will prevent me from ever returning for anything, no matter the size.
