Bought 3 black watermelons at $12 each, were guaranteed to be good and sweet. But were not, very mushy inside. Just a different experience this time

We were hyped when we saw the SF Chronicles article about the black seedless watermelon. We bought 5 total for July 4 weekend. So far, we opened 3/5 and they are all bland :( They don't seem very ripe yet. I have had better watermelon from Trader Joe's and Costco. :-(
