The driver was very pleasant and helpful. Was very knowledgeable of the trail and the area and shared it. The only negative is that they request that we arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time which we did, but the driver didn't show up until about 5 minutes after the scheduled time. I called to confirm that I had the pickup location correct. Not a big deal.

Use this starting point for the hike on McKenzie River Trail. The sign for the trail will be on the left side of you as your are driving North with a small parking space to park. There is another point on the Google map up North that states that you can enter the McKenzie River Trail there, but you can't. Other points of access are at Paradise Campground, (it's there but confusing to find) and at the Belknap Lodge. Don't be disappointed with the scenery on the way due to a past fire, for the more you drive North you will find lush green Oregon trees everywhere.

Always a nice respite from the drive across the Cascades, the trail provides wonderful landscape, boat launches, and amazing nature (even so close to the highway). Stop. Take a breath. Take a walk. Return to the road refreshed.

The hot springs just feeds the pools operated by the hotel. Easy access through the lobby. You can stay or pay day use fee. Find the secret Garden.😀
I saw multiple pets all along almost every trail, leashed of course.
The trail itself is somewhat technical in some places and it wouldn't be super fun to hike with fishing gear. However there are many points along the river that are pretty easily accessible by car. The best fishing spot is probably Clear Lake since the water is more still and they plant fish in there.

The McKenzie US forest service has maps that show all handicap safe trails in this area. Happy trails.
There are lava rocks on trail.
