Very, very interesting place if you are into history it is a must see, I am not really into a lot of history, but found it very interesting. It was definitely worth the stop.

Definitely worth stopping to after seeing Bentonville. The guides were very nice as we cam close to closing and they still let us checkout the insides of the buildings.

Bennett Place is important part of the history of the Civil War. The guided tour was excellent. They also have a 17 min film that provides some historical context.

Cool place for a quick stop. You can literally feel the history at this place

I took several pictures of my kids there and they did not have a problem. It's not very crowded
We provide guided tours on the hour starting at 10am and conclude at 4pm. We don't do guided tours at noon to allow for staff and volunteers to eat lunch. We do these tours during normal operating hours which are Tuesday through Saturday. There are times we have school groups scheduled so you may wish to call ahead to see if there are any school groups coming.
I lived up the road from BP for 20 years and have been many times. The time it takes will depend on what you do there. There is A VERY tiny museum and gift shop. The average person could cruise through in 5 minutes, but if you're the type to read every label and story posted, it might take a half hour or more. Then, there's the property. This is an old family farm, the place the agreement in the south to end the civil war was signed. It's a tiny farm house, a small outbuilding, and a gazebo that looks comparatively modern (probably added for events at the historical site). Other than a plaque here or there that's really all there is as far as historical sites. Again, 5-30 minutes depending on your pace. BUT, if you view this as a park like setting, as I long have, it's a lovely oasis in the middle of the city, with a large open lawn and bordering on woods with lovely trails for short nature walks. Bring a picnic and enjoy it on the lawn, in the woods, or at their picnic tables!
Unfortunately, due to state regulations, we do not allow dogs into the visitor center or historic buildings but we do have some nice nature trails as well as our open field to allow dogs to run/walk. Thank you for your inquiry Bennett Place Staff
