Larry Wright is the kindest man and literally takes things in from the moment you or the EMS call him. He is family and we love everyone up there.

At a time in life where loved ones are grieving, and mourning the loss of someone close to them, you expect a funeral home to make things as easy, and unstressful as possible. Wright Funeral is not that place. We lost our Mother 2 days after Christmas (12/27 Monday ), and on the 28th (Tuesday) we were sitting with Larry C. Wright/Owner, at the Funeral Home. Mr. Wright asked many questions to my Sister, Brother-in-Law, and I that day, as to what our Mother's final wishes were. After all questions were answered, we were told by Mr. Wright that NOTHING would be done until AFTER the 1st of the year, because the doctor who would need to sign off on paper work was out of town and would not be back in town until after the New Year. I live outside of N.C. and my sister did not return to Wright Funeral home until 1/10 to settle up payment and pick up our Mother's ashes, because we were waiting on Wright Funeral Home to have Death Certificates in hand, which were delayed due to the "wrong" paper work being filled out which I was informed of during a phone conversation with Mr. Wright on Saturday 1/8 was a mistake on Wright Funeral Home for the delay. My sister called the Funeral Home on 1/3 to inquire about a cause of death, as well to once again ask about seeing our Mother, only to find out that they had cremated her on Sunday 1/2 after we were told nothing would be done until likely 1/4 at the earliest. Never once did either of our phones ring informing us that the our Mother had been cremated on 1/4 or that a doctor had been able to sign off on the Death Certificate. Instead Mr. Wright and his staff allowed us to stay uninformed of any of these actions until my sister walked back into the Funeral Home on 1/10. Not to mention that during the initial meeting with Mr. Wright on 12/28, I had asked Me. Wright that due to the unforseen passing of our Mother, would it be possible for us to see our Mother and say our goodbyes to hwe. Mr. Wright's response to that question was rude, appalling, and very INSENSATIVE with a " They'll be a charge for that" . That is absolutely the LAST. thing you say to a grieving family. Our Mother didn' t want a service, or a funeral. We wanted to honor her final wishes. Mr.Wright however was more concerned with Business and asking us about which Urn we would like to purchase, and the fact that our Mother wasn't having a Service, Casket, Funeral, or Burial and that he was losing out on money then he was anything else.

So incredibly disappointed in this agency. One of the previous reviews suggest that you have become "numb" to the needed sensitivity that goes along with this type of work. Based on what I have been communicated to about afamily's s recent treatment, I was appalled. I could careless how long you have been in this business. It would appear that you have lost the ability to put the customer first and make them feel like their wishes are priority regardless of how much they spend on funeral costs. It would behoove you to listen and truly hear what folks are telling you instead of being defensive, argumentative, and just downright rude. Perhaps you have been in the business "too" long. SHOCKING!
