I foster through the Asheville Humane society so I get a lot of hands on experience here. They’re so great to all of the animals and always take such good care of them. The adoption fee includes so much!

I don't work at the Humane Society, but you could call them and ask.
I'd check with Asheville Humane Society too..they help rehome every kind of animal. Also, Daniel's suggestion on Farmers Market is a good one..good luck!
Check Asheville Humane Society/Buncombe County Animal Shelter for "strays and lost digs"..if your dog was picked up her picture will be posted. If not you can post and also post pictures on Next door..good luck!
The buncombe county Animal shelter, located next door is where you would surrender an animal. If the animal is deemed adoptable after its assessment and there is room at the facility, the animal would be placed into adoption. Both facilities try very very very hard not to euthanize animals, but unfortunately thousands of animals are abandoned and only hundreds are adopted. The Humane Society works with other local nonprofit agencies to try to place animals into adoption.
He was there yesterday before they closed.
Me and my little girl just adopted a Yorkshire Terrier on thursday from Asheville Humane Society and they were doing free adoptions...we just love our new little boy!
I don't have any idea. I'm just a supporter, I don't work there. Call Brother Wolf directly or go see them. They can answer all your questions.
Asheville animal control is locatedNext door to the Asheville Humane Society, that is where you would surrender animals or you can call animal control in a situation like this and they should be able to come out to you. There is also Brother Wolf Animal rescue, I'm not sure where they are in their capacity at this time
They are always looking for help, contact or visit
I have never volunteered with them so I'm unsure I would just give them a call.
Put info into a post on FB WAX ON West Asheville Exchange
I need it all.
No, not right now
Hi Aries! We work with local food pantries to provide dog food. Please visit our website for more info: https://ashevillehumane.org/resources/pet-food-assistance
Last time I was there yes
Good question. Worthy cause to call.
They only have what people have surrendered or found. Occasionally a ferret does come through. Check their website regularly for updates.
Call (828) 761-2001 x316 to schedule a surrender appointment. Further information, including what you'll need to bring, can be found on this page: https://ashevillehumane.org/resources/pet-surrender
Call them and they'll be able to tell you all the info you need to know about adopting their pets.
I have a 1 year old male cat. I have to find him a new home ASAP because I’m moving
Awww Call the center directly Local guides use this forum, most businesses don't answer directly
Hi Susan, so one of the great things about AHS is that their website is all real time! So if T dog is on the website you know he is still available.
Melissa Mcentire their phone won't take messages and won't allow you to speak to a live person and I tried emailing And face book messaging about fat boy over a week ago. So far no answer. Normally that would be the best suggestion. Thank you
Not sure but you can sure call and find out sorry I dont habe more info
They do not. They facility connected to them does. The buncombe county animal shelter.
I would try the Humane Society..I'm sure vets charge a standard fee..so sorry
All current dogs are listed on the website ashevillehumane.org and yes, it looks like Little Joe is still there.
Buncombe Co Animal Shelter (attached to Humane Society) keeps a list of organizations that can help in situations like these. I believe it's on their website.
I would think they would be receiving treatment..not sure if you could adopt, but do call..super nice folks!
You should call the AHS, I don't work there.
Call them
You take them to the human alliance on leicester highway. They should be able to tell you.
If you explain that you had turned her in and have any papers proving that you owned her they might allow you to see her records. I'm not sure if it always works but it's at least an idea.
Parents must be with the child
I'm not sure..the animal control people might be able to help
Thanks for all your support, I am going to call animal control because how this dog is completely wrong!! And it is a horrible thing to watch!
The website has the hours of operation
Ahs has lots of shelter kittens that need a good home. They are spay and neutered, shots, and in good health I'd recommend adopting from the shelter
Yes
Won't your Dad let you bring your dog?
If a husky is the kind of dog you really want to adopt, you can go to the Humane Society and fill out a form with your info and what kind of dog you are looking for, and if they get one in they will call you.
You need to contact the Buncombe Cty. Shelter for info on that. They open Mon. AM
REACH on Brevard Rd services any domestic animal emergency. The animal must be transported to their facility.
I suggest calling AHS directly. They can give you exact answers to your specific questions. Their service offerings change from time to time.
I would call the agency and ask, that is a long drive to leave, although you may not find a perfect pet either. It took us three visits to find a suitable, safe pet for our family.
Marie I'm not one that can help with that only to say....you can call them. You have to leave a message because they are so busy they don't answer phones..BUT they do return all calls. Feel free to call and leave a detailed message. They are glad to help and or send you to the proper people to get help. They helped me so much. That is why I want to be here for people like you on their account. Hope this helps. Sincerely
It depends. I really don't know exactly but I do know that have buy one get one free, because I did it. Sometimes just $5. I'd go and talk to them and if they ask to much ask if they would take less. I did. They want the pets to have a good healthy home. They are great people. Go see them. I did..😌
