As a testimony to Leevy's Funeral Home I would like to openly share my letter of appreciation as written to Leevy's Funeral Home: Leevy’s Funeral Home 1831 Taylor Street Columbia S.C. 29201 September 1, 2021 To the Family at Leevy’s, On August 16, 2021, I had the unfortunate displeasure of needing services from a funeral home. Upon conferral with my eldest uncle, I was advised that Leevy’s Funeral Home has handled the affairs of our loved one’s for many years. As a result of my uncle’s advice, I called Leevy’s. My initial contact was with an extremely patient and comforting woman. To my discredit I do not recall her name however, I do believe her last name was McDonald. This stands out to me because I fondly remember her eliciting a laugh from me as we cajoled about fast food (something to the effect of her patronizing the competition). Needless to say, laughing and smiling at this particular moment was indeed comforting and I would like to express my thanks for that. The next contact came from a gentlemen named David Johnson. As it turns out Mr. Johnson’s September 16th birthday is the same as my late mother’s, somewhat ironic. Mr. Johnson too was patient with me and considerately acquired required information from me, this to I am thankful for. Next up was Mr. Leverit Williams who was the Funeral Director. Mr. Williams, extraordinarily comforting, patient, receptive, congenial, reverently respectful, and overtly familial. Mr. Williams treated our arrangements as though they were for one of his own family members and us as though we were family and for this, I will be eternally grateful. Also, throughout my process I had the tremendous pleasure of meeting and being assisted by Montez Haynes. Mr. Haynes worked tirelessly with me in making sure that every detail was correct and as often as I presented changes Mr. Haynes was ready, willing, able and he capably addressed all requests. The day of services met with introductions to: Shirley Wilder, Michelle Richardson, David Johnson & Flavin Coleman (please forgive me if any of the names are incorrect). All of whom drove my family and I on the day of services and each were extraordinarily comforting and patient with us at a very difficult moment. This was my first instance in being so intimately involved in the funeral process. I offer this letter to acknowledge that dealing with everyone at Leevy’s Funeral Home made an otherwise extraordinarily difficult circumstance much easier to deal with and get through. Each of Leevy’s staff were knowledgeable, friendly, considerate, and overtly professional in all of my interactions. I will undoubtedly, with neither hesitation nor reservation recommend Leevy’s Funeral Home to anyone who needs final arrangements being made. Moreover, I would strongly recommend to everyone who reads this letter that they engage Leevy’s Funeral Home in pre-planning final services. I would like to close by reiterating my eternal gratitude to Leevy’s Funeral Home, specifically to Leverit Williams; Montez Haynes; Mrs. McDonald; Shirley Wilder, Michelle Richardson, David Johnson & Flavin Coleman. My family and I will always retain good memories from a troubling time thanks to the professional services rendered by Leevy’s Funeral Home, 1831 Taylor Street, Columbia S.C. 29201. Thank You.
