Several years ago they had a popular version called Wrangler Riata Relaxed pants. I found those to be excellent and the first (1) version of Riatas. I used to buy about ten pairs every year. But, then Wrangler stopped making those and they came up with a second(2) lighter weight chino still called Wrangler Riata pants. That version was terrible and people stopped buying them. Now, there is a newer version, which is just called Wrangler Relaxed (chinos). Wrangler labels them as improved. This third(3) version is definitely better than the (2) version but not up to the original (1) Riatas. The fabric is only improved over the original(1) Riata in that it now has stretch. They are ALMOST as good a relaxed fit as the original Riata's. However, they are not wrinkle resistant like the originals, and do not have a button back pocket like the original Riata's. They are also made to be worn lower on the waist and have a shorter zipper, which last two items are apparently the new style. However, I would like to point out that most of the men, like myself who would wear this type of pant or the original are not that crazy about having that short a zipper or wear that low. Personally, I don't find that as comfortable as a slightly longer zipper/rise. The stretch and fabric are okay albeit now I have to iron the single pair I got, because it wrinkles badly after washing. Please consider making further improvements to these chinos.
