Even though they were under construction they were very well put together. Let me test drive anything I wanted to. Took longer to put insurance on the car than to actually buy it. The guy we worked with in finance was absolutely amazing as well. I would definitely recommend

I've purchased many cars before and so far this has been the worst experience. Carmax has a good system but there are many factors that makes the experience unacceptable. I still decided to purchased the vehicle since the trade-in was more than any other car-dealership will offer me at the moment. The staff is not well trained (EAST HAVEN, CT location) I was there from 9am-5pm ALL DAY! The sale staff does not know anything about cars in general more than basics that you can read from the car description. The car was not ready when it was supposed to be, and when I was ready to take the car, sensors went on and the service center was closed on the weekends(what kind of dealership service center is closed on weekends? the busiest days?) a shame. I was coming from over an hour distance and they offer to take a look on Monday. I decided not to, and told them that the manufactured dealer take a look at it. As a courtesy, they offered "dinner reimbursement" which I still have not receive and when I contact the sale person tells me is not a "priority" meanwhile, the sale woman(Shaylah) offered the dinner reimbursement so it should be a priority and should be contacting me and giving me updates about the issue instead of me contacting her. Erick(sales manager on site the day of my car purchase) told me about the issue and coordinate manufactured car dealership to get the issue solve which I am still waiting now for the parts to come in. In general, apparently they do not check car until you are ready to take it home which is unacceptable and make a terrible experience. I would not recommend this location at least. The difference between CARMAX and other car dealerships is the variety of cars which is a plus. Just be careful when you go and make sure you check that car before even negotiating it and go mentally prepared to be there all day.

Horrible experience yesterday. I called in because the Range Rover I just bought a week ago or so is making a loud noise in reverse, and brakes are squeaking. After a lot of exhausting back and forth with the service rep Bryan, he told me, in short, that all range rovers make that noise and I was welcome to return the car if I didn’t like it. All I was looking for was them to replace the rear brake pads that are down to 60% in the back to try to make the noise go away, and they did not offer me that option. I was told it would be $550 to put brake pads on a car I bought a week ago. This is the 3rd vehicle I’ve bought there and I’m sorry to say it will be the last. Previous service reps have been very helpful in the past, but this time around it was an awful experience. He offered zero comfort or options to even try to fix the issue on the car I just paid 40k for. Unbelievable.

CarMax is taking appropriate precautions for health safety. Masks are required of employees and customers. Hand sanitizer is readily available. Pens are new and wrapped in cellophane for each user. They allow unaccompanied test drives for 20 minutes. They use plexiglass at each sales persons desk. All good precautions.
