Jim & his team were fantastic to work with! The comprehensive inspection of both of our chimneys plus the courteous and thoughtful way that they moved about while inspecting was very reassuring. Jim’s enthusiasm and knowledge helped us feel empowered to make the right call with our chimney situation and we look forward to continuing to work with Firesafe.

Sean texted and called asking if early would be okay. He arrived at the agreed time, and both he and his assistant were friendly, upbeat, and got right to work. They addressed my concerns and performed the worked for which I called them. They were careful to not create dust in the cellar, left the chimney and stove ready to function, and thoroughly cleaned up their work space. The price was as stated when I made the appointment. I could not be more pleased.

Sean and his partner were very nice and explained everything and showed pictures. He also asked me before he had to add on an additional charge due to excess amount of soot we had to have removed.

All good, would recommend to anyone.

It can be if the team has the right experience, products, and tools for the job. Glazed creosote cannot be removed with standard sweeping brushes. While some companies choose to use hazardous chemicals to remove glazed creosote, here at Firesafe, we use Poultice Creosote Remover (PCR).

So why choose stainless steel or copper? Aluminum caps and caps made from other weaker metals can quickly corrode and rust, rendering them ineffective, and leaving unsightly and unappealing rust stains down your chimney, roof, and siding. We recommend stainless steel or copper chimney caps, both of which will resist corrosion and prevent rust staining. The ideal chimney cap will cover all surface areas of the chimney and provide water protection to the entire exterior top.
