So we just moved to Ocala, and thought this was great, an international Airport very near to us. We'll, when I went there to inquire about something, there were no workers present, there is no ticketing, baggage, anything. I finally found someone that worked at the restaurant and he said, oh no, it's not a true international Airport, it's only labeled as such because there are private jets that fly horses to and from Canada and Saudi Arabia. It only caters to private jets and planes.

Is Gainesville Regional (GNV) still the closest airport to Ocala from DFW?
it all depends on the private charter you use.
They do, large aircraft fly in and out on a regular basis now. In fact Airforce 1 has landed there right now.
You have to take a Cessna plane or a private jet to your location no airlines.
Ocala is a general Aviation airport. Mostly private and Corporate aircraft including a flight school. There is no scheduled Airline service. Must go to Orlando or Jacksonville for Nashville flights.

The radio frequency the controller uses to communicate to the pilot
No passenger flights. Last passenger flight was back in 1987. It's used mostly for commercial and private.
You can't
I'm not sure. I believe that it is expanding. I just recently worked on the large hanger and heard plans that next phase is office building upgrades. Could be a slow progression. I also have been working on Keystone Airpark in Keystone Heights, they are on the upward expansion as well. I'm always available to talk. Mike 207_240_6206 hope this helps TJ
No but there are Discovery Flights at Ocala Aviation.
There are no airlines in Ocala airport yet. As of now it's a local flight school and private jet operation.

Currently there are no airlines at this time. But in the future they might but for now its just private planes because airlines are grounded here in ocala since the 80s so there trying to get it back.
It would have to be a private flight. Currently no commercial flights landing there.
Air Force One was bringing the President of the United States to visit the Villages and sign an Executive Order. Local news outlets from Orlando covered the landing and departure.
Reseaching the websites we found they once had limited commercial airlines but due to lack of passengers and high fees the airlines canceled their contracts Now all that is listed are small private charters (pricey). My wife and I hoped Ocala had better services when we moved down last year. Orlando, Tampa are reasonably close when you take the toll roads so we are good
