Laid back and friendly people. The best pier I have ever fished from.

A team of full time water fowl rescuers is needed to save all of the birds that get tangled, hooked and injured from fishing gear that’s left behind or in use.

Mostly saltwater fish.
We are here now - No veterans discount Using live shrimp for bait - can buy in the pier
HONESTLY, after the RED TIDE killed 130,000 tons of fish this summer, only small bait fish is availble, pinfish, greenbacks, etc. You need to use the smallest SABIKI rigs at Walmart, the fish are plentiful, but only 4-8 inches, 1000s, and you can expect to catch 1-4 at a time with the SABIKI smallest rigs... This makes it fun for kids and adults that are not "big fish" motivated. FUN is what you will get, not big fish, they all died this summer July 2021 in the red tides.... google that: red ties, Tampa Bay. and you will understand the big fish will take 3-6 years to return.
no expense to cross the bridge
Fwc regulations. just keep place clean there's families and kids there also. good fishing.
Yes the fish ing is great have a good time
Nope, all clear in the bay. 👍
Pinfish, snapper, sharks, tarpon, sometimes trout, spanish mackerel, gag grouper, grass porgy, grunt, jacks, pufferfish, snook, drum, sheepshead, ladyfish, catfish, southern kingfish(whiting), and much more! And remember some of those species like jack, snook and grouper don't always show up that often so you shouldn't expect to catch some of those species of fish. I hope you enjoy fishing the pier, and good luck!
4 dollars per car plus 4 per person so if you go by yourself it cost $8 if you go with someone it only cost $12 total.
No, not yet.
Tides4Fishing.com is very good
Shrimp. There is also live bait to be caught around the pier the bridge if you’re using a bait net or a sabiki bait rig.
Yes, but shrimp boats do not fish on Tuesday or on rough days so sometimes it’s hit or miss. Also shrimp are not as prevelant in the summer so you may not get shrimp later in the day as they sell out fast if it’s busy.
No
No
No, you don't need a fishing license on this pier. It's included in the cost of admission.
Yesterday people was catching red snapper and grouper
It's always been nice there, even if it's a bad catch day, it's a great day fishing.
I just left around 1 AM nothing is biting I caught a sting ray that's about all fishing with shrimp
?? Speak English please
Nice place to go fishing. Bait and tackle available. Bring folding chairs for comfort.
Yup @ bait shop on bridge

Grills are ok, not sure about the generator
Yes , me and my friend sometimes do a all nighter there and a dollar discount should be awarded for all doing more that four hours
Hell no, how you going to turn around? Skyway rest area is best for RV
Not suppose to have on Pier but people out them in like play pens. I've never seen them let big dogs out of their cars.
Many years ago the fishing piers at both ends of the Skyway Bridge were part of the original bridge. But a tragic accident happened when a big boat or ship, not sure which, ran into the bridge killing a bus load of people and tearing up the bridge. After that they built the new, high bridge. And they created fishing piers out of each end of the old bridge.
South pier accepts card! 24HR pass includes north and south pier!
The pier fee will cover you on a fishing license. Majority of other paid fishing piers in the state will also permit the absence of a fishing license. Great benefit if you have visitors for out of state. Cheaper than the route of going with a charted captain.
It was when we were down there in October.
You also buy bait at O'neill's marina before you get on the pier. They open at 5.
The best method is using live shrimp or green backs and. Cut them into small pieces and put them on either a size 8 or 4 hook and make sure to use two split shot wieghts and let the bait drift with the current . thats my way of fishing that pier. have a nice time and good luck fishing🐟🐡😉
Its a state park no license is required just have to pay to get on the bridge
