Always enjoy Barnes and Noble. Don't overlook their kids and gift sections as they have some great STEM and thoughtful items you can't find in larger box stores.

Barnes used to be a place I really enjoyed as a high school student. The staff have undergone some major changes. They look overworked and their answers are never personable. I asked if Barnes would price-match w Amazon. $26 versus 13. The lady snapped at me saying Amazon sells at a loss. Okay, that's fine. Barnes however is a large corporation (Fortune 1000) and not a local bookstore. For the horrible retort, I would rather support Amazon as big as they are. The one star added is for their "blind date with a book idea" which is simply just genius.

Such a fun place to go! Most books are overpriced though. I think this is mainly because they don't re-price their items when they come in, they just use whatever printed price is there. It's a really fun place to look around if you're in the area, but if you find something you like, it's a lot better to search it up on Amazon and double check the price before purchasing. Very organized and clean. Employees are friendly and super helpful.

The technology (programming languages) section targets only entry-level content and not as current as it ought to be. Every time I visit a B&N I'm looking for something new, but it isn't supplied here. And, the average price point on those books is $50-70 -- probably lower turnover. Willing to pay, but Amazon's taking the cake for my spending because of lack of inventory in this genre. Leaves me only getting magazines and kids books when I do go.
