Had dinner here on our last night in Newport. Server Kyle was very sweet and the food was very good. Nice quaint decor. My husband like his dish, but being a big guy was hoping for a little more. He had the mushroom raviolis and I had the bow tie pasta with shrimp and scallops. I was hoping for sea scallops not bay, but very delicious. Dessert was also very good. Tiramisu and chocolate mouse cake. We would definitely go back.

Kyle was fantastic. He opened up their other room to seat us and a other couple. The food was delicious and Kyle is an example of what customer service should be.

As I entered Lucia I was pleased with the decor and inviting atmosphere. My desire for a "gourmet"pizza as printed on their menu made for what I thought would be a wonderful tasty experience. I strongly recommend if you want to get more for your bucks ($17.95 for a 10 inch pie) go to the frozen food section of your favorite grocery store and buy a package of frozen crusts for a portion of the price and create your pizza at home. When I asked if the crust is frozen the answer was YES!!!! If I'm paying almost $18 for a so called gourmet pizza, I would like to know that someone in the kitchen is tossing the dough in the air and not removing it from a plastic bag. Most disappointing as well as false advertising.....I also asked for the smallest cup of sauce for extra on the pizza and was charged $6.95. It had to be 4 tablespoons worth of sauce, if even. Me and my tastebuds returned home most dissatisfied... Beware store bought pizza disguised as gourmet.

We made a reservation about a half hour before our arrival. The restaurant has two sides. One side had A/C but the door to the outside was left open, so that side of the restaurant was warm. I asked to be seated on the cooler side. We were shown to a two person table which was quite small. There were 3 or 4 other larger tables and we requested to be seated at one of them. There were 3 other couples there already dining at larger tables. After a lot of cajoling, we were finally seated at a larger table on the cooler side of the restaurant. We waited a very long time to get bread. Every time I asked, I was told the bread was coming. How long does it take to bring a basket of bread to a table!! My husband ordered an eggplant dish that he said was good. I ordered a chicken dish that came with broccoli. The chicken breasts were so tough, I had to ask for a sharp knife to cut it. This restaurant charges $8.00 for a side of spaghetti. The least expensive thing on the menu is pasta. Yet, Lucia's charges $8.00 for a side of pasta. Unconscionable! I know that Newport is a tourist destination, especially during the summer months. However, Lucia's is taking advantage of their diners with high prices and not even serving a side of pasta with an entree. All on all, I would choose somewhere else to go if you are looking for good Italian food.
