I'm not much of an art fanatic. Going to this museum really enticed me. Open layouts, beuaitufl spreads, and on hand help. They have people ready to answer any questions in each exhibit room. You have to go, if nothing else, for the great hall. Breathtaking.

An amazing experience

My toddler and I visited for Second Saturday (family day). It was a lot of fun and the volunteers did a great job with the kids; they had arts and crafts, family friendly tours and toddler activities. It was pretty busy (she eventually became overwhelmed) so I'd like to return with her for a more quiet day.

The Auerbach Art Library is just off the main entrance of the museum. They hold files on each piece of art in their collections. I recommend checking their open hours, as they used to only be open a few days a week. If you can contact them ahead of your visit, they may be able to gather materials in advance.
