I remember the old Palmers and the dark woody interior and it always felt comforting. Since Covid there have been a lot of changes, including a paint job, new menu and a price increase. The cocktail menu is extremely limited. Though I will admit the drinks were very well made. Our food was flavorful, and the menu was creative. The big flaw for me was service. We weren't really paid much attention to and our waiter wasn't fantastic with infrequent check ins. So It felt lackluster for the price and I'm confused if Palmers is trying to be a trendy restaurant or the comfy pub we all knew before?

Hate the new menu. Not one thing that someone with allergies could eat.

Food is great, but is disappointingly noisy in the main downstairs dining area. Sit on the enclosed porch or upstairs when it opens.

Attended a Christmas Party. The room was cozy, but large enough to comfortably socialize when the or' derves came out. We were able to select our meal from a short menu, which is a very nice touch for a group situation. The food itself was delicious. Looking forward to coming again.

That is correct - you can get into the first floor indoor dining areas and the bar (which has only high-stool seating) but not to either porch nor upstairs.
