Our back lanai door was broken by a stone, which had been kicked up by the lawnmower. Glass Doctor of Ocala responded to our Villages address quickly, took careful measurements, and our door has been perfectly repaired, luckily before any severe storms occurred. The installer came when he said, worked quickly, and was very neat, cleaning up every little remaining piece of glass. Would definitely recommend this service.

Mike, our tech was great! He was patient with my questions and did a quick, excellent job. We will be calling Glass Doctor again if we need another windshield replacement.

Questions & Answers

Do you happen to fix exterior front door frames? Thanks!

Briana Jackson | May 18, 2022
Glass Doctor of Ocala | May 18, 2022

Hi Briana, We replace broken or foggy glass in doors and windows and we install custom glass shower enclosures. Plus, we replace glass in automobiles, however, we do not work on the exterior front door frames. Do you need glass replaced in an exterior door frame? Regards, Bryan Y. 352-622-7859

Hi friends! We are looking to install glass panels on top of our 120g terrarium. We need three rectangular panels cut for each side, six panels total. In the middle panels, we need 1" circular cuts made to mount misting nozzles. Can it be done?

Glass Doctor of Ocala | Sep 15, 2021

Yes that can be done, our Ocala shop only offers mobile service and does not have the proper equipment and cutting tools for your project. We do offer these services in our larger shop in Tampa. Still, please give us a call to discuss and we can make some recommendations or refer you out if necessary. 352-622-7859. Regards, Bryan Y.

Do you replace sliding door rollers?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022

Yes! We do replace rollers if needed. Of course, we try to clean the tracks and rollers and adjust first. If that does not work, we will discuss replacing the rollers for you.

Can you buff scratches out of glass?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022

Scratch removal in residential glass and light commercial applications is not a commercially viable solution. Basically, it is labor-intensive and not very successful. Furthermore, if the customer is not satisfied with the result, they are understandably not willing to pay for the time and materials invested by the glass company. Scratch removal and scratch buffing systems exist; however, they are typically only practical in warehouses, industrial, and on larger commercial glass projects. Please call our Glass Doctor office if you would like a more detailed explanation.

Only the bottom section of my window is broken. Do you have to change the entire sash, or can you just change the glass in my frame?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022

We specialize in glass replacement. We can, in most cases, remove the glass from the frame and install new glass. Your existing window sash will remain.

We are remodeling our bathroom and would like our existing mirror cut down to a smaller size. Can you do that?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022

Most likely. However, if the mirror is glued to the wall, there is no guarantee that it can be taken down without breaking. If you can get the existing mirror off the wall, we will need the mirror brought to our shop to cut down. There is no guarantee that the mirror will cut without breaking either. We cannot be responsible if a piece of glass or mirror that belongs to a customer breaks when trying to cut it, but we always do our best to cut carefully.

How do I know if my glass is a tempered safety glass?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 18, 2022

If you use steam to fog the glass, you will see a tempered logo in one of the corners that shows the glass is safety glass. There are code requirements for safety glass as well. Consult with your local Glass Doctor for those requirements.

What would it cost to replace glass on a 60 inch sliding door. the seal is gone and its like cloudy in side thank you. Diana

Diana Mace | Sep 16, 2019
Glass Doctor of Ocala | Sep 16, 2019

Morning Ms. Mace, Replacing foggy double paned patio door glass is one of our specialties; we can definitely help you. Most patio doors are standard sizes that we stock, or we can get quickly, but there are occasional exceptions like special tints, Low-E coatings, hurricane impact laminate and custom sizes that we make special. That said, assuming you have a standard door, and depending on the width and height of your door, your cost to replace should be between $350 - $550.

CAN YOU FIX A CHIP IN A GLASS TABLE?

Judi Lentz | Sep 16, 2019
Glass Doctor of Ocala | Sep 16, 2019

Morning Ms. Lentz, Only laminated glass, like you find in a windshield, can be chip repaired and even that leaves a blemish because any void is filled with resin, not glass. For table tops, sometimes you can cut the table down depending on the location of the chip, but often that can be more expensive than ordering a new table. Please call our office to discuss your options with one of our experts. (813) 884-6455. Regards, Bryan Y.

Can plexiglass shower doors be cut and/or trimmed to better fit the opening ? We have framed shower doors that need to be trimmed by about 5 inches on each door.

The Bordens | Sep 16, 2018
Glass Doctor of Ocala | Sep 16, 2018

Hello Bordens, My apologies for the delay in replying. I had no idea Google My Business added this "Ask a Question" feature and apparently the default setting is not sending us an alert when a question is posted. However, I do really like this new GMB feature and we will be monitoring it going forward. On that note, I don't know how long ago you posted this question but if you still need the service please call to discuss. Most shower doors are tempered glass which can not be cut. However, if your doors are really plexiglass, then they can be trimmed with standard cutting tools. That said, you will probably be happier and better off on price just ordering new shower doors rather than cutting down your existing shower doors. Regards, Bryan Yarborough
