Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site

I came here to expect to find a lot of driftwood (hence the name drift wood beach) but I was disappointed -hardly any driftwood! Great place to fly kite though.

This is a great beach with a parking lot that is well laid out to provide high visibility and prevent car thefts. But do not leave anything of value in sight anyway as car thefts still happen up and down the coast. The pathway down to the beach is steep and I would say probably not accessible for a wheelchair without assistance. I was able to get down it with a cane. The beach is a nice flat beach with interesting rocks and driftwood. It's usually not too crowded. The bathrooms are very accessible and also very clean. All in all a great and safe place.

We didn't find any driftwood! But it was possibly the best place to watch the sunset. You can see in all directions and my photos were amazing!!!
