We had a perfect experience with the Rycor team! From painless and patient sales/planning with Comfort Specialist John B, to scheduling with Brian, digital paperwork with Laurie, and installation with Team Leader Carlos & team was super! On the morning of installation, Carlos & team arrived 10 minutes before appointment time (how often does THAT happen?!) to unload their cool-looking company branded truck (which my husband noted shows Rycor takes great pride with its image and reputation), confirmed installation locations and processes with me and my contractor, and promptly began working! It was the most impressive practice we have ever seen! They were like the A-Team for those familiar with the 80s show! Everyone knew their tasks, were diligent, hardworking, and polite. They collaborated with my electrician who was running electric wires for the units. Once installation work was complete, Carlos walked us through all the tested units, the remote control and setting options, and gave us best practices advice. The end products looked great inside and outside the house. Afterwards, the team covered up all the units nicely to avoid damage and dust as our house still has a long way to go with renovation work. Rycor even took care of the rebate paperwork and product warranty registration. We look forward to using Rycor for additional units and annual maintenance in the near future. The owners of this company knows how to run a top notch service-oriented company 👍🏼 Keep up the fantastic work! Highly recommend!

Read the above. says it all. Of course, when I start using the units again will be the proof. Continue to work well, comments are verified.

Wonderful company all the way around! I had general maintenence and inspections done on my two heat pump units (heat and a/c in one wall mounted unit). I called and was able to make an appointment right away. They gave me a time frame for arrival. I let them know the service person could come earlier if he was free. Griffin (I believe his name was) called earlier and came early! He was a wonderful, young man, very personable and answered all of mine, my daughter's and even my parents questions! He was very knowledgeable and did a great job! Highly recommended RYCOR and had a great experience!

Questions & Answers

Is it normal for my heat pump to deliver warm air (not hot) and operates for long periods of time?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90°.

How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.

What maintenance should I perform on my air conditioning unit?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

How often should I replace my air filters?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

Is an HVAC system with higher capacity better?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

How can I increase the lifespan and efficiency of my home’s HVAC systems?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.

How do you measure the efficiency of an HVAC system?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.

What size HVAC system should I have installed on my property?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

In general, one (1) ton of air conditioning can cool anywhere from 300 to 800 square feet of home. The primary factor impacting the effectiveness of an AC unit is the construction of your home. The best way to assess your home's needs is to have a licensed professional evaluate them.

How are the sizing capacities of heating and cooling systems measured?

Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021
Rycor HVAC | Sep 15, 2021

Heating and cooling systems are sized according to their tonnage. One (1) ton equals 12,000 BTU/H (British Thermal Units/ Hour).
