Honestly I have never been treated with so much love and respect. Not even a hotel can compare to such lovely personnel, the family feeling and peace I’ve received here. My daughter is 7 years old and with such innocence she said to me “mami, I don’t want to ever move from here” kengsington thank you for showing me that we all deserve love, equal treatment, respect.

The most rude/unprofessional staff I've ever came across. They treat clients like animals, some staff will enable other staff behavior by using given authority to attack clients and make them look bad. Staff at this location give CAMBA and everything they stand for a bad reputation. Clients are being harassed daily and nothing is being done. I'm 7 months pregnant dealing with ghetto security guards everyday, followed by front desk staff who enable the horrible behavior of security guards at the Kensington Family Residence. Suzette, who work at the front desk dressed unprofessionally in clothing that doesn't fit her body type, uses her authority to attack clients she does not like. It's one thing to do your job but another when supposedly doing your job vindictively. When you ask for the names of guards to report behavior they refuse, as well as other staff witnessing the behavior of the guards.

I tried to find out if they accepted donations. The receptionist was rude by telling me to hold on, then disconnecting me. I’m very disappointed as I hoped to lighten a family’s struggle.

Great help clean environment friendly staff. Every shelter has its ups and downs when it comes to how staff and case workers treat us but for the most part it's good. Just make sure you ask questions pay attention to all the support they give.

You have to go to PATH. They will place you
Yes they do if they are in good conditions
U can't it's a family shelter.....n u sound too young to b running away
It's for families ...and you have to go to path
You would have to go through PATH To be placed in a shelter and that would be any PATH Closest to wherever you are in New York just Google PATH near me
They do accept things. Give them a call they will let you know how to proceed with regards to clothing.
Yes
It's family shelter
Go to PATH in the Bronx. Once you are there make sure you do not leave at all. It's best to go on a Friday, that way you don't have to worry about having to leave to bring the children to school. If you leave they will assume you have a place to stay and you will be found ineligible for placement. If you're working take the day off, you have to make sure that all of you who are staying in the shelter are together and present and make sure you have documentation (birth certificate, socials, last place of residence etc.) The more you can provide the better. And you have to make sure there is absolutely nowhere for your family to stay (no friends, no family, etc.) They will check.
This is not a shelter for you and your partner. It is a family shelter and a child (or a child on the way) is one of the requirements. If you have no children, you are going to have to try other shelters. If you do have a child, go to PATH on 151st in the Bronx. From there you will hopefully be assigned a shelter with availability. It may or may not be this shelter.
No only family with kids and if your a couple with no child u cant go to path. U gotta go to afic on 30th street
You have to go to PATH before you could be transferred and there must be a vacancy before you can be admitted at Kensington family
Path is in the Bronx 151 street Grand Concourse 2,4, and 5 train to 149 Grand Concourse And Walk Down By McDonald's
I believe you comp size is too high... Either way, you would have to go to PATH first before you're assigned to any family shelter. After PATH, you will be placed in the best appropriate shelter for your needs.
Unfortunately, DHS shelters doesn't work that way. If you are granted a transfer, there is no way you would be able to chose where you want to go as it is all based on bed availability and most suitable shelter.
Huh?
Families are placed through DHS, not directly at the Kensington. You should follow up with 311 for more information on how to be placed in a facility to satisfy your family composition.
It's between Church Ave. and Albemarle Rd
You have to go to PATH before anything. You need to be referred to the shelter from there. You can't just show up to the shelter.
