A great small hike. A little terrain and great views. Took the Perimeter trail to see all the water and Islands. Went on a rainy day.

A gorgeous park in between some beautiful little cities. It’s a hidden gem full of wildlife, water features and stunning views of waterfalls. A stunning place, full of history.

Absolutely. There aren't many trashcans throughout some areas, so be prepared to carry your poo bag a bit. it's a great place to walk with your furry friend, enjoy!
Absolutely many different spots on and directly around the island. The walls by the locks become popular on the Waterford side
Not in the park, I don't think, but there's a nice trail that gors south from the park along the Hudson. It goes past an historic mansion, over a small bridge and into a park in Watervliet. I'm not sure if it hooks up to the Corning trail further on.
No, as a member of the Friends of Peebles Island i can clearly and definitely say no, hunting is not allowed. The island is clearly marked no hunting.
I beleive you can rent the pavillion.yes
All the comments are true. Access to the water is easy and accessible, BUT you do so at your own risk. I would check with mgmt. for your peace of mind.
There is shore line access on the trails as well as near the picnic areas.
There are very likely many ticks. The trails are very well cleared though, and you can walk them without needing to touch or push through any underbrush.
I don't think so. Especially because it's private property and we're in the middle of a pandemic.
I've seen people have parties/ gender reveals and such there and no ones ever stopped me from going in

Before the vivid 19 you could but now there are limits on the amount of people allowed at one time
Sorry I don't know that did you look on the website to see if you can do that or check with the park thay maybe cutting down some old trees and maybe ya can get some of the pics of wood well 😁 good luck and have a good 🔥 day the end
Many years ago (1960s to later 1970s) the area was used as a free automobile junkyard this is a leftover from that era
No
Hmmm, state park....detectoring... I doubt they would say ok if you asked, but i also doubt you would be in much trouble if you were caught.
Kayak rentals are close, on Waterford boat launch across the canal. Less than a 10 minute walk from the parking area.
No there is not a fee. There is a small parking lot
not only are they rocky trails some are on the edge of a cliff. nice walk though just def not for inline skates
There are at the pavilion, but they are closed for the season. If the visitors center is open there are some there, and the canal corporations visitor center on the Waterford side of the North bridge is open during business hours.
