This is a great area to hike. You can drive all the way up and hike from there, or there are many trails to go on. Great views at the top from several spots.

I am so glad we made the drive to this park from Blowing Rock. West Jefferson had lots of great shops and restaurants in a picturesque downtown and we capped off the day with some hiking here. The views were wonderful and the hikes were perfect for a family but not too easy. There are several trails you can choose from as you climb the mountain and hit each overlook point.

This is such a lovely and amazing place to visit. The park staff are friendly, the park is well-maintained, and the views are spectacular from the overlooks. The overlooks are easily accessed by car, and the hiking trails are very nice as well.

It was a rainy day so the views were encumbered, but it was still pretty cool hiking through the clouds. The trails at the top of the mountain were relatively flat and didn't have unmanageable elevation changes

Yes, Dogs are allowed on a leash, and please bring something to pick up after them if the decide to use the facilities.
Yes you can! I've done it multiple times. There are also picnic tables around too if it is taken.
Yes , you are more likely to see the deer early in the morning or around dusk . As for the bear and coyotes they are here but you probably won't see them . They are elusive animals.
Dont believe thats offered here. Several commercial places around have ot for various prices, youd have to ask them directly.
