I own many properties in different states and can say without a doubt this is the worst building department I have ever delt with. The people seem to be the dumbest, most clueless in construction and the hardest to get any permit out of them. It seems they try with great effort to do anything in the world to not issue you a permit. Not sure what motivates them other then being on a weak little power trip.

This is one of the best agencies in the area to work with on permitting. The staff is great. They are helpful, friendly and always available. Heather is amazing. Ed W. and Dave M. are terrific. Stephanie M. and Katie are wonderful.

What do I do about a roofer who started my reroofing in Jan & don't answer my calls & hasn't come back to finish. Striped old shingles and installed under laminate.

Not Cool, it happens more often than it should! Look for a Reputable Company to finish the project (Crowther Roofing, 239-337-1300, Residential Division) You will have to either cancel the original permit, if they procured a permit, it do a change of contractor.

This is governed by the local Building Departments, depending on which county you're located, it is part of the 800 inspections ie Landscaping, Exotic Removal, drainage Etc
