Questions & Answers

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHICKADEES? On Friday, 07/10/2020, I saw ONE chickadee briefly. I feed the birds (sunflower seeds & suet) yearround. Chickadees have always been a constant. Friday's chickadee was the first one I've seen in roughly 6 weeks

Hi Susan, during the Summer Chickadees switch their diet to mostly insects, especially when nesting. Insects are high in fat and protein and are essential for raising their chicks. Your Chickadees will return to the feeders in the fall when insects become harder to find.
