After hand-delivering my soil sample to Gainesville from Ormond Beach, I was told to contact Volusia Co. Ext for interpretation of the results. Now, three weeks later, after multiple calls, I've yet to receive the courtesy of a return call...and I'm a MAJOR UF donor. Disappointed in UF/IFAS.

Does anyone know of a way to grow peonies in central Florida? I sure my Ohio peonies 😏

I haven't tried it, but things might grow well the first time. Unfortunately our semi tropical climate is not suitable for peonies. We are way too warm. Try them in pots. I do recommend reading the Florida Friendly Landscaping Guide. Do an internet search to receive your free copy. Good luck!

They do test water, but only for salt solubles. If you need more, you will need to send it to UF. The county extension office has the information you need and you can find it on their website.

Do you do soil sample testing to see what has killed the lawns of a couple of houses in our neighborhood?

Please contact our Master Gardeners to discuss the problem with your lawn. They will help you determine the issue and whether you need to bring in a soil sample. 386-822-5778
