Usually they will send the notice within 2-4 weeks once they approve the payment and if he need to take a biometric test. But if he DID NOT receive the biometric appointment notice, he must contact USCIS.GOV.
I want to know when you are going to send me my green card as I have been down to your Orlando office and have been fingerprinted and given you my paper work and all I got that day was an extension from Sept 2018 to Sept 2019.

No you can't travel with an expired visa or ANY expired documents. It is against the law to do so. However you can contact USCIS.GOV to find out what next steps you need to take.

Best to not even take phone in. There is a sign on door about what You can not take in. So long as child stays close and is well behaved you won't have a problem. He of course can not be in your lap for picture. LOL
