This review is only of the Circus museum - the others are separate. Most of the museum is neat but I feel it presents a rather romanticized image of the circus… If there were any mention of the human trafficking and grotesque “freak shows” from before the 1940s, I must’ve missed it… please let me know if I did. There were some mild advertisement posters but that was all I saw of it. From what I’ve read, those practices at B&B Circus also continued under Ringling’s leadership (research the cases of George & William Muse). I understand there are children visiting, but maybe at least create a video or separate exhibit with a “mature content” warning? I just find it disappointing this estate has been in the hands of the state of Florida for about 80 years and the full history is not taught… in a history museum. The main attraction for me ended up being the huge model traveling circus built by Howard Tibbals (after whom the museum is named). It is impressively expansive, extremely detailed, and has its own hallway!

They have several prices depending on ages. Call them is the best way to check. Special rates - yes
Give yourself at least 2 hours, since there is so much to see, depending on how much time you'd like to spend at each exhibit.
Adults $25 Seniors $23 https://www.ringling.org/admissions-and-tours
I did see original newspaper articles on the walls about the fire.
I do not believe you can purchase online. There are many shopping services where you can get them to buy it in person and ship it to you.
You can contact the circus museum in Sarasota Florida and ask it's been several years since I have volunteered there
As long as you show a student ID you qualify for the student discount
There are full size train cars at Ringling. I don't think they have any engines in the property anywhere only specialized circus train cars. The main part of Tibbals is a massive miniature circus display
Absolutely!!! I wasn't sure about it either but it's great but make sure you see the house as well. There is a lovely sit down Cafe on site which is nice for lunch.
I'm sorry I don't know. I went on a Monday when many exibits are free.
I did not see any during our visit.
Unknown.
They are not open on Christmas nor New Years.
Yes!
Yes they are
We have a staff of archivists that could potentially help with that. There are documents from the time, and you may get lucky and find some answers
There is a physical gift shop at the museum, but I do not believe they sell anything online.
When we went it was like access to the museum/only bottom floor of the house/art museum was $90 for 2 people. I think the two museums were included and we had the option to add on the second story of the mansion but it was more expensive.
Interesting. Will look into 'Shira.' Do you have any more information that could narrow the search? Late 1800s to early 1900s is a lot!
On Monday the rippling muesum and artbgalleru are free on Monday to everyone.
Open. They were painting back in April but opened while we were there.
The old museum is closed, but the new one is open. The new one is limited in some fashion (compared to a visit years ago) but has a huge model that is extremely impressive as well as interactive displays.
Different packages, Museum $25.00, Museum and House $35.00, Museum and whole house $45.00 each. That is the best of my memory. Go to Ringling web site. It is a great visit! We enjoyed it!
I believed that they are different prices to enter but it is worth it for any you go into
Very comfortable shoes since there is a lot of walking but there is a tram they'll take you from The Ticket Center to Ca'd'Zan and bring/ wear some sunscreen and maybe a camera.
Yes quite a lot of walking unless you take the tram from The Ticket Center to Ca'd'Zan. Other than that were comfortable shoes and also bring sunscreen maybe a camera
Mugs, Signs that say things like This is my circus and these are my monkeys ! A beautiful coffee table books. Posters like old ones. Christmas ornaments of different animals and circus stars.
They do, just depends on what areas of the grounds you are also going to explore. https://www.ringling.org/admissions-and-tours
The place is worth the visit and cost. Monday's the grounds and art museum are free to my knowledge.
There are clowns on display in pictures and statues, however I did not see any live or moving clowns. I don't believe it would be scary but use your discretion. It is truly an amazing place to visit!
Yes a lot of place
The brothers who founded the Ringling Circus.
Depends on which tours you go on. There is a fee to go into the museums and then two seperate fees for the different tours of the estate.
No
The art museum is free on Mondays but not the circus museum. That is $25 per person.
The art museum is free on Mondays. The tour of the mansion and the circus museums are not.
Yes and they're open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on certain holiday
Depends on how many show areas to visit?
Two places - a sit-down place called Muse inside the visitor center (with outdoor seating) and a cafe nearby. Both have excellent food.
I also would recommend the guided tours. Spend as much time as you can in all the areas it is fantastic with a fantastic story. A Personnel in the food building are very friendly and helpful. So enjoy your trip it is worth every penny
I'm guessing the actual circus started I, believe in the early 1900's and the museum was built later. It is awesome loads of Windows showing years ago up to present with miniature buildings and people. I spent 4 hrs in it ,and had to exclude more exhibits. I wasn't time to go into the gift shop. Their final show was in Dec 2017 and so sad to see it end . They were forced to give up their elephants, and sales dwindled There is also a fabulous art museum displayed in the mansion that the owners lived in for over a century. You'll want to see it if ever you're in the area.
Call them is the only way to get THAT answer correctly. It's a awesome place to visit.
No, closed today.
How much is ticket
It's a pretty flat area with wide sidewalks for pretty easy walking. The buildings are a bit far from each other as well. You walk through the museums. They have a golf cart service that is free and the people that work there are very friendly.
