Why are you buying your hearing aids at Costco? Seriously. Why? Go to an actual licensed audiologist. You’ll get the specialized attention you need and the ongoing service for these instruments that’s critical. But don’t take it from me. I’ve only been wearing hearing aids my entire life....

I am so pleased with the Costco Hearing Center. Lynn, the lady who helped me, was outstanding. I learned more about hearing aids speaking with her than I have in five years of wearing hearing aids. She explained to me for example about the little filter that can get plugged up and prevent the hearing aid from working properly. No one has ever mentioned this to me before. I have gotten so frustrated when my hearing aids seem to stop working and now I understand that it was probably this little filter that had gotten plugged. Also, i learned that the batteries have a life even if you don't use them. In addition, that you need to leave the hearing aid battery hatch wide open when you are not wearing them to get maximum life out of the battery. Lynn was very gracious with the amount of time she spent with me and allowed me to compare each of the various types of Hearing Aids Costco offers including Kirkland (the house brand), Phillips and Phonak. Both Lynn and Lisa are very sweet, have friendly dispositions and are helpful. Thank you Costco!

I am very pleased with my ReSound Vida hearing aids from Costco – they are not the ReSound LiNX Quattro hearing aids that are so widely advertised nationwide, but they have more than enough features from the LiNX to make me happy – ReSound sells their Vida hearing aids to Costco so they can sell for less, and they sell the ReSound LiNX Quattro for twice as much through private hearing centers. First I went to a private hearing center in Carlsbad – they tested my hearing and tried on a programmed set of hearing aids for me – and let me walk to some outside surroundings to hear how well they worked – they wanted me to buy them on the spot for $7,000 – well, I am retired an am on a fixed income – also my brother in Florida paid about $4,000 for his hearing aids – so I didn’t want to pay more then he did – plus, I had never heard of the brand this center was pushing. I finally decided to go to Costco because I trust them, even though Dr Cliff gives them a bad time on You Tube (he wants to pump up private hearing centers that sell hearing aids for much more money) – I decided on the Costco in Temecula as it is such a busy store – Costco in Temecula has 3 hearing booths and 3 salaried specialists (they are not on commission) – I felt good right away – how could they have 3 hearing booth stations and have unsatisfied customers (that’s not like Costco). They carry 4 major hearing aid brands – Rexton, ReSound, bernafan, PHONAK - plus their own Kirkland brand, and none are over $3,000 for a pair of hearing aids – I explained how I had different hearing problems in different situations: hearing my grandkids, hearing people in my car with road noise, and hearing voices in a noisy environment – I had been reading up on the ReSound, and I knew they had a great blue tooth App for my iPhone that would allow for these different situations – Costco also thought that would be a good choice for me – they also highly recommend and sell the PerfectDry Lux dehumidifier for nightly hearing aid maintenance (operates off 110v or usb). Next was a complete hearing test – I basically knew the results as I had recently been tested in Carlsbad, but Costco gave me a more comprehensive and longer hearing evaluation – next came the fitting of the ReSound Vida’s about a week later, after they arrived – so far in the first week, I am very satisfied – there is a refund policy so if you end up not liking what you have bought, there is an incentive for Costco to fit you with hearing aids that will work for you – I am able to use my Resound Vida’s in the “All-Around” mode from my iPhone app most all of the time – I rarely have to switch to the “Restaurant”, “Outdoors”, or “Music” modes, but they are there when I need them. This is so lengthy because Costco Hearing Centers get bad-mouthed from professional hearing centers, mainly because they sell for so much less, but I am here to tell you Costco has been a great choice.
