Reserved a mountain bike shuttle with them and they didn’t approve of my bike (big hybrid ebike) understandably so. They moved things around at the last minute and got me on a IK with an afternoon lower Kern river trip that day! Fun trip and the folks in the rafts had fun with their guides who were also making sure I was getting good beta on the jungle run as it has some fairly serious strainers and a nasty siv. Good outfit, wish it would have been a single ducky and better paddle though! But great service)!

You can fish in the river that's about 50 feet away. Great for fly fishing. Or you can drive 10 minutes to the lake.
You can book online at: www.mtnriver.com or call our office at 1-800-861-6553. For holiday weekends, we tend to book up months in advance. Weekdays generally have good availability, but weekends book up quickly. It's best to book as far in advance as possible, but generally, 1 to 2 months ahead would be a safe bet for standard weekends. For holiday weekends, you're best chance to get a site would be to book at least 3 months in advance. Occasionally, cancellations occur and spots open up, so don't hesitate to check our availability online or call us anytime to check for openings.
All major roadways are open and accessible, Livi. Thanks for asking!
Thanks for asking! We are a pet-friendly park. We allow one large breed or two small dogs per site. For more information about our Pet Policy please check out our Camping Etiquette page at https://www.mtnriver.com/camprules. Scroll down below our Campground Map for this information. Thanks again!
There are a lot of day use camping around Kernville and Lake Isabella.
Hi Jonathan, We are primarily a tent camping facility with no hook-ups. Our one large group site just happens to have electricity that guests camping in that site can use. The fee is $25/night. Restroom outlets are for short-term use and items should not be left unattended in the our restrooms. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you! And thank you Diana and Jeff for helping out here! Hope to see you all on the Kern this season. It's going to be a fantastic year for rafting with MRA!
Hi Justin, Thank you for you interest in employment with Mountain & River Adventures. To become a Guide with our company, you would need to successfully complete our Guide School training program, and then interview for the position. You've missed the guide school for 2018 (it's usually in early April). Please check in with us this winter to get on our mailing list for our 2019 Guide School. Unless Lucas has trained you and you'd like to try to test out, the above steps would be necessary. Thank you, Rhonda
