08/06/2022 - Conrad Los Angeles & The Grand LA - The Grand LA comprising of retail, dining, hotels, and entertainment, sits across the street from Gehry's famous Walt Disney Concert Hall. One of the high-rise towers, which was open on July 6, 2022, is a 28-floor, 305-room Conrad Los Angeles with an elegant and largest rooftop pool overlooking Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) - this new luxury hotel is the first California property for the Conrad group (one of Hilton’s three luxury hotel brands). The second tower is a 45-story luxury residential apartment tower called The Grand by Gehry, whose entrance is on the Olive Street while the Conrad Los Angeles hotel's entrance is on Grand Avenue (Elevator #4), which is 6-story higher than the Olive Street entrance. To mitigate the DTLA traffic, the cars must enter the hotel via Hill Street. Both skyscrapers are a part of the Grand Avenue Project that has a joint powers authority from Los Angeles County and City. This is a great example of the important collaborative public-private partnership. The hotel has two restaurants from a two-star Michelin Chef José Andrés (See a separate review). One is SAN LAUREL (breakfast/dinner, indoor/outdoor), a signature restaurant, the other AGUA VIVA (lunch/dinner, outdoor only), where the iconic Los Angeles City Hall & the panoramic city views can be seen clearly at this 10-floor rooftop terrace. The connection under Trellis between indoor and outdoor towards the rooftop Terrace Restaurant (AGUA VIVA) has some special effects designed by a famous interior and studio designer, Tara Bernerd & Partners - see the photos for reference. The unique heated infinity swimming pool, surrounded by lush green plants and trees that are enhanced by massive LED lights at night, equiped with two sand filters, ozone friendly purifier, is the largest rooftop pool in DTLA and best to relax and unwind in among many luxury hotels like The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott or InterContinental because you can constantly hear the soothing sound of water waves with a just-right tempature and submerge your body into a high quality of soft water while a pop music is playing. The quality of towels (95% of cotton) by pool deck is very good or soft with comfort feeling. We all must thank our local government's contribution to revitalize the DTLA by creating thousands of jobs here and making the DTLA a must place to visit for dining and entertainment. At the moment, I am enjoying staying at a high floor guestroom facing the Los Angeles County Headquarters and LA City Hall through floor-to-ceiling views. Conrad Los Angeles also provides a complimentary house car service. We were sent to L.A. Live by a wonderful staff for a short ride of 10 minutes. If you have a special occasion, that's the venue you would like to consider for celebration besides some enhanced securities everywhere you can observe.

The food were delicious! We had dinner her to celebrate Mother’s Day! They were busy. The chilean sea bass was a bit overcooked, but it was still good.
