I came to this restaurant with my family after a memorial service. We had a reservation but they refused to seat us or let us order any food/drinks until our entire party was there, even though 2 members were stuck in traffic. My great aunt, who is diabetic, made the mistake of going inside to see if she could at least get some chips and salsa to maintain her blood sugar. The owner (I assume) immediately started screaming at her and running her out of the building. Once seated the wait staff and host were quite pleasant. The food however, was grossly overpriced. My brother ordered the Cubano ($26) and it was a flavorless open faced thing. I got the vegan enchiladas (also $26) which were lacking flavor and mediocre at best. They do not serve burritos and all the mains were at least ($26-$40). The drinks were pretty good, but not worth ever coming back. Update: Clearly the owner of this establishment does not take any responsibility or wish to make any improvements. If you'd like a sneak peak at how she treats the guests here, take a look at her replies when people are not satisfied. Never apologizing and claiming it is everyone else's fault. Referring to me as "honey" is not just disrespectful but also incredibly patronizing, get off your high horse and realize that you are hurting your establishment even more than ripping off people with below mediocre food. There might be multiple sides to the story but as a business owner, your job is to provide good service to your guests. There is also no question of the facts of what transpired.

Worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. Management were screaming at customers when I got to the restaurant. I was looking for a nice plate of Mexican food after having gone whale watching for 4hrs. Looking at the reviews I thought this place would be perfect. As soon as I heard people being screamed at I knew I should have left. The food I would describe as boujee expensive white person Mexican food. I can guarantee you that the local farm workers have never set a foot in this place. The food was over priced and not that flavorful considering the price. I will definitely be closing one of the other three Mexican restaurants that are close by for real authentic Mexican food at working class folks prices.

Haute Enchilada - Naught! I rarely leave reviews and usually only when a place is amazing - but honestly wanted others to be aware. DO NOT STEP FOOT INSIDE this restaurant! I had booked a table for a party of 10, months in advance for lunch after a memorial whale watching trip for my uncle who passed away unexpectedly in May. Two of our party were stuck in traffic, so since we were only eight the owner would not allow us to be seated. After 30 minutes of waiting in the outdoor patio a member of our party, 76 years old and diabetic stepped inside to see if we could possibly be seated or if we could get some chips while we waited, but before she could even explain her purpose the owner/manager screamed at her to "GET OUT!" and ran her out of the building while continuing to berate her. In shock, words were exchanged. The owner then threatened to kick us out. The hostess, kindly took control, deescalated the situation gracefully and escorted us to our table. Had we been there for any other purpose we honestly would have left. The outdoor patio was lovely and the wait staff gracious. The chips and salsa were very good, but be aware these will cost you $6 a set up. The drinks at $16 were amazingly-the cucumber jalapeno margarita was the best I have ever had...and much needed! The entrees presented as upscale were just weird, lacked flavor, and at $24 minimum per person (and we all ordered different things) were unanimously disappointing. Overall it would have been better to have picked up sandwiches and eaten in the municipal parking lot across the street. I understand the stresses of being short staffed and that we are still coming out of the pandemic, but the way the my guest was treated was inexcusable and tainted what was otherwise a lovely day of remembrance. Follow-Up Response: I was unaware that another member of the trip had also booked a reservation, had tried to call that morning but got no answer. If you have any doubts about my review related to the owner/managers behavior please read her response to my review - my guest was definitely right in her assessment of the owner's character.

Lunch is mostly under $20 and dinner under $30. Average for the Monterey Bay area. The food is healthy and fresh. Not the usual heavy mexican fare.
