Per state regulations, if the employee/obligor's principal place of employment is California, the employer must begin withholding no later than the first pay period that occurs ten days after the date mailing of the wage garnishment. They then should send payment within seven business days of the pay date to the state disbursement. The state has a two day processing time to then send payment to the custodial parent.
