Needed a sedan for a road trip. As I’m at the front desk I see one of the guys outside whipping an Altima right out of the car wash, doing burnouts, frying up the transmission. Initially they tried to give me a VW Golf with bald tires, even though I reserved a Corolla ‘or similar’. He asked me if I wanted to upgrade and I said, no, only if it’s free. They didn’t have a car to accommodate my reservation. I ended up getting the Altima that I just watched do donuts in the parking lot. He charged me for an upgrade, since they consider an Altima a full size sedan, and he changed my return time without my knowledge. I had scheduled drop-off a week later @5pm, and he changed it to 8am. I ended up dropping off a day early, so the total amount should’ve been cheaper, but it wasn’t. I told the guy what happened and he fixed the price for me. I also drove the car through the tolls, so when I got back home I went to pay them but they have all the cars under a rental fleet account for tolls, and the website wouldn’t let me pay. A week later Enterprise sends me the bill for the tolls. Was supposed to only be ~$4.00 but they charge a $5.00 service fee, so it was $10.00 to drive one way through the 241. SMH rental car places are such a scam. Nonetheless the Altima performed well, despite how poorly they treat the cars. Just reminded me why you shouldn’t buy cars that owned by rental companies. I will consider renting from someone off Turo next time.
