The talent that rolls through is top notch. We found free/ cheap street parking fairly quickly and easily. There is a lot for $20, but we weren't trying to pay for parking. Service was very attentive. Front of house and was kind, carefree and welcoming. Food was OK. I heard bad things, but got to taste some stuff and was not disappointed. 2 item minimum is typical for a comedy club, but here, you can get away with paying $8, which is cheap compared to the SF scene. And having coffee is pretty dope. It is not 1 bill per table so you aren't stuck covering everyone. You can go on your phone, scan a qr, order your food, and take care of payment all at once. The big disappointment was seeing the number of mistakes servers were making. They need a better system of mapping the tables so that the food and checks are dropped off in the write location. At the very least, servers shouldn't be in the wrong section and have to go up or down stairs to find a table. At the very least they should be in the right section. Once that issue is solved, the servers shouldn't have to squint and look for every table number. They should know before they're on the floor, or the numbers need to be easier to read. Bigger or glow in the dark.

Charged us incorrectly for food. Spoke to General Manager David Williams who then started cussing at us. I’m shocked by the unprofessionalism by a so called general manager Levity has placed there in charge, they should be aware of these unprofessional and disrespectful business practices from someone who is managing this place as it will deter future business and create a bad image for the Improv name.

Came to see Carlos Mencia on Thursday May 19 for the taping of his HBO special. Such a great show! 2 menu item purchase minimum required. Food was delicious but service was slow. Ordering through the app took forever. Otherwise had an awesome experience. People at the club were so friendly. Looking forward to coming back soon!

It started out rocky at 1st but not to the theater's fault. We arrived a day early for when we bought the tickets but they accommodated even though it wasn't right off the bat. Took some convincing that we messed up & we won't be in town for the next day showing. The server that had long curly hair was terrible. He took our order then never submitted it. Then he would ask if we want water, never came back with it. Instead he served people around us. Wasn't funny since we saved our appetite for the comedy show. Ridiculous server. We had to ask another server to give us water. She was wondering why our server wasn't attending us. Food came out at the last minute. We had to hurry & eat before the show was over. Was going to give this place a 4 🌟 because of Aries Spears. Great comedian btw! 2 it is. Don't get that guy as your server: curly pretty boy as your server. Too many mistakes 😪

Every show I've been to seating is first come first serve. They do sell " VIP tickets" that include a reserved table up front by the stage, 4 tickets to the show and food and beverage credits. Their website has the pricing on that.
No proof needed. Just need to wear a mask to enter building. Once sat at your table, you can pretty much remove the mask. Even if you're not eating or drinking. Been there a few of times in the past few months and it's pretty relaxed once you're seated.
There is no policing of masks. However, it is recommended by the county when indoors.
I know this is an old question, but just in case you are still wondering, I was a bit curious myself so with a quick Google search, I found an article on the San Jose Mercury news website "PUBLISHED: May 7, 2015 at 9:02 am" with a list of upcoming events. #10 on the list reads: ".. JO KOY: The Filipino-American comedian is a staple on the college stand-up comedy circuit and might be best known for his sharp commentary on “Chelsea Lately.” Fans of Koy’s slice-of-life humor are in for a treat, as he headlines this weekend at San Jose Improv and returns there at the end of the month. Details: Five performances May 7-9 (tonight) through Saturday, (then back again for) Five performances May 28-30 ..." So, to answer your question, according to the Mercury News, Jo Koy was the headlining comedian that performed at the San Jose Improv on May 7th, 2015. PS. @Shaunta Meshesha - Try looking at a calendar before answering past date specific questions so blatantly incorrectly. ...Just sayin'.
From the stage to the second level are considered to be vip seating.
Call the Box office hope it's not too late They take decent precautions

Yes. A two drink minimum does apply since ticket prices go to the comedians and other expenses. They have great food options as well as non-alcoholic drink choices as well.
I check it a few days ago 25 dollars
There's a mixture of young and old in the theatre. Prices vary, check the website
I think they would be happy to sell the glasses. I would say go ahead and do it. I love that place and want to see it stay open. Also you CAN order soft drinks in the glasses.
Go to the website for pricing. You can also go to Groupon and save some money.
