Original phone call to sign up for Medicare went much too easily. Was told my coverage would start as of May 1, that I would receive paperwork and bill in the mail. Today is May 6th and I still have not heard anything!!!! Now I find that the original person who signed me up over the phone neglected to check some boxes that needed to be checked off, end result nothing has happened yet and my application is still sitting in the office. Hopefully will hear something tomorrow since they are too paranoid to allow any in office appointments (you know, where this could all be straightened out at one time!)

How can I make an appointment to check my retirement status
I lost my social security card and I need it asap for my new job
Just walk in. No appointments for this issue. Walk in only.
Online or in the office.
No
I talk to someone at the office last week and they said their lobby flooded. She didn't say how long they were going to be closed.
No
Ok The service is excellent and with great kindness aciendo appointment, or present the same day arriving at a good time in the morning because the service is fast and timely.
Do I need to make an appt to turn in a new W-4V Withholding request?
I'm not sure, but apparently the process takes three to five months after being approved. When they are ready to give you the benefits they will send you an appointment from the social security for a final interview. Not if it's the case for everyone. Ami took me one year seven months and still nothing. I had a last appointment for a final interview but they ask for many things. I am applying for disability for life and had to grab a lawyer.
Go to the SSA office with the original divorce decree as well as your original unexpired ID. If you are not a citizen, you also need your work authorization card or your green card. If you have become a citizen, but you have not updated your citizenship status with SSA, you need to bring your naturalization certificate also. If you have always been a citizen, no citizenship paperwork is required.
