Make sure to wear sunscreen, hat, (cooled) water, sunglasses, and the high is not 100-- gets hot!! Bring hiking stick if you decide to veer near the water!! Trail starts just right of the rec center, and rafting looked like a cool option too...

Wrong, the park is open from 6:00AM until SUNSET!! The closing time is NOT dark. The Visitor Center is open from 10:00 AM until 2:00PM on weekends and Federal Holidays.
