Annaliese Quisisem helped us buy our first house, and she is the best realtor we worked with. As first time homebuyers, we learned a lot about the homebuying process and things to look out for. Annaliese really had our best interests at heart and didn't push us towards purchasing anything. She was so patient with us, and came prepared every time to our open houses with info about the house (plus snacks!). It was awesome to have such a great resource to help guide us through this bumpy market. We loved her ✨ positive vibes ✨ and energy, and we'll definitely give her a call for any real estate related things in the future!

Selecting Annaliese was the best decision we could have made. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated. She presented us with the different options, took her time explaining them to us, and at all times we felt in control of the decision making. She made it easy for us to complete each step of the process and was right on point with her recommendations. She made the experience of selling our home so positive. We are forever grateful and strongly recommend her.

Working with Annaliese when I purchased and now 10 years later, have sold my home has been a painless experience and exciting. Annaliese took time to explain the market value, strategic approach and business plan. She has reliable resources for all needs associated with Moving, buyer. I highly recommend Annaliese as the chosen Realtor for Northern Ca. Thank you, Lynn Cryet

Questions & Answers

How much of a down payment do I need to buy a home? My partner and I would like to buy, but don't have a 20% down payment. Does this limit our buying power?

Many homebuyers believe they won’t qualify to buy a home if they don’t have a 20% down payment. That’s not the case! Did you know the average first-time homebuyer puts down just 6%? As a buyers’ agent I connect homebuyers to lenders offering loans that require as little as 3% down. My goal is for you to become a homeowner on your own terms. If you can get approved for a house with a smaller down payment and become a homeowner sooner, that’s great news. What’s important is you feel comfortable with how the numbers shake out.

Can I back out of a purchase?

The decision to back out of a home purchase is tricky and largely depends on what state you're at in the transaction. If all of your contingencies are met, then you have a challenge. First, you stand to lose your earnest money deposits. Second, the Seller could sure you for additional damages for non-performance of the contract.

It's hard to decide which lender to choose. Is it better to use an online lender or a big bank?

When you buy a home, *and I cannot stress this enough, *it's critical to use a small to mid-sized lender specializing in mortgages. If you are in a multiple offer situation and your offer has a pre-approval letter from a big bank or - even worse - an unknown bank, your offer is going to the bottom of the pile regardless of how high the purchase price is.

Should we rent in a new area before committing to buying a home there?

Renting is a great way to get a feel for an area, especially if you are unsure of a neighborhood, school system or job commute. Renting is also a great way to try a different style of living, whether you are downsizing and want to try a condo, or if you are done with maintenance and want to have an apartment and a landlord to take care of everything.
