There are a couple of different factors that come into play when deciding whether you should replace your roof entirely, or whether a repair might be enough to hold you over for a while. Some of the things you should consider are: 1) how long do you plan to live in the home, 2) how old is the roof (the older the roof is, the more likely it is that it needs to be replaced, especially if you have a roof with a short lifespan), 3) the amount of damage the roof has (if you only have one small leak or issue, that only covers a small portion of your roof, then a repair could do the trick. If you have multiple leaks, or a single issue that covers a large portion of the roof, then a replacement might be best), and a few other factors.
