This office has by far the worst and most unprofessional reception staff I've ever encountered anywhere (I work in the medical field). I came to La Plaza because I fostered/adopted a dog through a rescue and this is where they wanted her services done before I could officially adopt her. The receptionist dropped F bombs at the front desk and told me my dog would "be so high she'll be seeing music in colors" as I dropped her off for surgery. I didn't intend to go back but my dog hasn't needed to see a new vet yet for any particular reason so I'm waiting for now. Today I tried to call to get a refill of her medication and was told they don't call or fax to pharmacies and won't mail it to me and I should drive from Santa Rosa to pick up the paper rx in Cotati, then she says that maybe she could try to call the rx in but definitely not today, maybe next week if she has time. She kept saying Maybe offhandedly as if maybe I'll do it and maybe I won't. This was after I was put on hold & hung up on, called back to wait on hold then was answered but immediately put back on hold for another 10 minutes. No care or empathy, just attitude and defensiveness , "well, I'm by myself!". I would avoid this office at all costs.

Dr. Reif is amazing, however, the front desk staff leaves something to be desired. When I call there, I feel like I am a burden. 98% of the time I am immediately placed on hold after being asked if it is okay but staff not waiting for an answer (why even ask?). I’ve had three cats seen there and my puppy went there two times for vaccine clinic. When I tried to get proof of one of the vaccinations, the staff member condescendingly said “you were supposed to get a slip of paper.” We told her my husband had lost it, as he thought it was just a receipt. After some back and forth, she finally produced something and then said “here, take a picture of it so you don’t lose it.” For such a nice, caring and experienced doctor, it’s a shame he can’t find kind, compassionate, organized and efficient staff.
