UPDATE: When trying to board our dog for the weekend, we were told that they do not accept pets with shots from Lovejoy, as the shots are not done by a trained veterinarian. There are definitely good dogs here, but once adopted I would get the medical care somewhere else. This is one of the only orgs in the area still having walk up adoption events. They have a wide variety of dogs and puppies. Lots of apartment-friendly breeds. Fee includes follow up vaccinations, neuter, microchip, and some medical care. We love our new best friend!
Dr. Strange
The dogs here are friendly and don't bite unless you are annoying them, hurting them, or doing something they don't like. They don't even bite most of the time, and sometimes grabs your hand in their mouth to play, but when I said ouch very slightly, immediately let go. Staff are very nice, and care for the dogs. As long as you are fourteen and older or have parent supervision, you can walk the dogs to certain areas. PLEASE BE VERY GENTLE. Price varies depending on the dog, but reasonable price. I can not tell you if you will like the dogs or not because you will have to bond yourself, and I cannot tell you what dog YOU would like. VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

We show our dogs on Sat and Sun from 11am to 5pm and we would love to meet you at one of our events. Erin
Yes you do
Location?
Maybe you can leave a message on their fb page? Erin Lovejoy is the founder. She is wonderful!
You should call and get some info, they take good care of pets. They have adoption events on the weekends. Should stop by to talk to them.
When is "clear the shelter days?"
Give them a call or stop by tomorrow when they have their adoprion fair.
No we do not at this time.
I had lost my shih tzu .got him back cuz he had a chip. He told me it was going to be $32 but they ended up charging me $81 cuz fees and they said they gave him a couple of shots. I felt like they should have told me the charges before I went to get him. Other than that the people were polite..
I am not sure, but you can ask the employees, who will give you more info.
Weekdays Mon-Fri
Call Lovejoy Foundation and ask for the Director, Erin. They receive animals from animal control most everyday. So sorry you lost your babies. Hope you find them soon.
I would suggest contacting the foundation directly to get the best answer.
Ahhh🥲 I hope they can
I would call the Lovejoy Foundation and talk to the director & say you want to surrender the puppy and be honest about your situation they dont judge ok! Good luck!🐕❤
Hello. Did you find her a home? I’m looking for a puppy. It’s me and my three children
Its a animal shelter/rescue to adopt animals
You should go to one of their public adoption events. Info is on their website.
It was a very easy process. The staff there are busy but very friendly and helpful. We went on a Saturday afternoon for their open adoption day. We were able to find a new fur baby and apply/get approved on the same day. There is an adoption fee but with all the help and support including vaccinations and training, the fee is totally worth it!
I recently adopted from The Lovejoy Foundation. They are very popular and are getting 50 applications for one dog at the moment. If you really want a puppy, you will have the best results if you 1) Follow/Like their Facebook page to get updates on their adoption events, 2) Fill out an application and email it to them, though they will likely not respond (expect no response), 3) Print out the application and bring it with you for their open adoption event, which is usually on Saturdays between 1 and 5 p.m. More advice: Get there 10 minutes early because the line will be long; be patient and follow along with Erin (there's going to be a lot of people and dogs); if you don't find what you want, you will be invited back by appointment for the following weekend, which will give you an edge. TL;DR: The best way to get a pup is to show up.
Yes, I believe you can
Not sure what you are asking, but they do have cats there also.
I have a Yorkie absolutely free. A groomer gave him to me 2 months ago. I am not home enough. Sweetie!
Yes, they have kittens!
You can also try putting an ad in the local (on line)classifieds! I have recently seen an ad for people looking for a guard dog. So there are families out there looking for dogs!Especially a German Shepherd... that way you could meet whoever's going to take your dog!
Yes
We adopted a 4 month old gsd a few weeks ago. You just have to go and see. We got lucky.
Adoption fee is $450
What is included in our adoption fee is the spay or neuter, microchip, rabies, all three rounds of vaccinations, deworming, defleaing, we treat for parasites and give you two hours of in home free training, our adoption fee is $450.
Sorry, I don't work there. I just adopted my dog from there a few months ago.
The adoption fee is $450 and that covers the spay/neuter, rabies shot, vaccines, one nail clipping, etc.
I'm not sure if it's any different for a non veteran, I would recommend to give them a call and speak to Erin. She was very helpful when I got my puppy a few months ago.
