We had an excellent experience with Sandbar. Our primary contact was with Jarrett McGuckin and he was very responsive and helpful in answering our many questions.

Contacted Sandbar to get a quote on a solar system for my home here in the Santa Cruz mountains Eli came out to provide the quote. He checked out our home and and provided the quote saying a new roof would be required before an installation. I let Eli know that over the winter 2 roofing contractors told us our roof was fine and did not need a new roof at this time. So I emailed Eli and mentioned that I was interested in getting a quote for ground mounted solar instead since I have plenty of sunny sloping land that would be fine for solar panels as an alternative to the roof. Was really surprised and put off by his response to my request.. Ground mounting requires a large racking system, often a soil analysis, as well as trenching to run the conduit underground back to the main service panel. If it were possible, the cost of the system would increase by roughly $8,000, but we would need to talk about where exactly it could be located because I don’t see a viable location based on the satellite imagery. If the re-roof is not in the cards at the time, my recommendation would be to pause the solar project until the necessary roof work can be completed. Not that I don’t appreciate the recommendation but i was surprised this company was discouraging me from getting a ground mounted system. About 20 years ago I got a quote for a ground mounted system and it didn’t seem to be a problem for them. Anyway I’ve decided to get more quotes from a company that wants to work with me. Sorely disappointed in Sandbar. :( - Johnna Coty

I had Sandbar install a 5.3kW solar system on my home in Benicia. I SIMPLY COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED with the outcome of the project. It is quite rare to find any contractor who delivers Quality, Price and Schedule. Sandbar did! They did exactly what they said they would do, quality work, on time, and on budget. And they had to put in some considerable effort to complete my project on schedule due to a very finicky building inspector's personal preference. They did the required extra work and finished the installation on-time and prior to year-end. This is a very professional, well organized and run company. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a solar project.

Great experience from beginning to end. Jeremy was really helpful in the early stages and the team did a great job with the design and installation. Highly recommend!
