Beautiful park with gorgeous trails! Went on a guided backpacking trip with Park Ranger Lydia and it was the best experience! There are many trails to chose from with varying distances and many water crossings this time of year. There is not a lot of parking, but there are bathrooms at the visitor's center and trailheads. If you want a good experience or just to get answers to your questions about trails, backpacking, or the great outdoors, ask Lydia!

This is such a beautiful and well-maintained park. We stayed at Big Cove site 12 which has a nice large wooded area behind it. There are a wide variety of trails ranging from easy to difficult. It offers pretty much everything that GSMNP does without the large crowds. On most hikes, we only saw 10 to 15 people.

This is one of my favorite hikes in the area. It's not as busiest as Smokies but you still get a good payout with views and waterfalls. It has great amenities for kids and families and is pet friendly. I would highly recommend Frozen head State Park.

Absolutely beautiful Park. Trail to the waterfalls was amazing! Park Rangers very friendly and very informative. Will come back to camp! Love this State Park!

There is no cost for day use of the park not sure about the camping.
Yes, probably.
not exactly sure. you csn google the park and call them and ask.
Trails are kept up an easy to hike. Couple of waterfalls right off trail. Many places to go off trail down to the water.
FISHING Flat Fork Creek flows through the park and is stocked with Rainbow Trout each spring. Trout are only stocked February to March. Flat Fork Creek is seasonal and may run dry in the warmer months. Fishing is allowed from the Flat Fork turnaround to the park entrance. A TWRA trout stamp is required. The park does not rent boats, nor does it have a boat launch ramp.
Its 0.5 miles up a steady incline to the first falls. Another mile up to get to the next set.
Senior discount, no hook ups, there is wading and a swimming "hole" if it has rained. Plenty of beauty!
The gates are never truly locked, you can come and go as you please. However, you need to try to be off trail before sundown, or rangers will come find you to make sure you're safe.
$5 reservation fee. https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/frozen-head
The afore mentioned plus you can tour near by historic Brushy Mounain State Penitentiary. Visit the Coal miners museum, learn the history of the Coal war between the residents and the state who leased out prisoners to provide labor in the mines eliminating jobs for locals. Lots of history in the area if you want a days rest from hiking and camping.
Emory Gap trail is one of the easiest
The old...Brushy Mtn State Prison
It's East of the fire tower at the bottom of the largest bowl on the east- Southeast side of frozen head mtn
You can also go to Tennessee gov and print one.
Creek is not deep enough for swimming unless you are a tadpole. No pool. Wading the creek is fun for little ones.
As you enter there's a scenic ride also camping, picnicking, playground, restrooms. At the end of the ride begins the trails to the waterfall. The first waterfall has a natural pool on the topside of the fall deep enough to sit in. Very nice
No hookups. They do have a concrete picnic table, a grill, and a firepit at each campsite, though.
what Andy said
No. There are rv hookups and campgrounds only.
It is not free. Costs are between $13 and $30 a lot. They also require you to use heat treated firewood that costs.
