My husband tried and failed to repair a leaky faucet. He was able to pull apart the plumbing but not get it re-assembled. Clear Drain saved the day! They showed up on time, promptly put everything back together, and tested to make sure there were no leaks. They observed Covid protocols (wore facemasks and shoe covers). I will definitely use Clear Drain again. I highly recommend them.

Two years ago (2019): Called Clear Drain Plumbing today for a minor kitchen sink emergency. They arrived within hours (exactly on-schedule) and were courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and reasonably-priced. Can't ask for more! This year (2021): Called Clear Drain Plumbing to troubleshoot a Tankless Water Heater that I couldn’t attend to due to living out of the area. Took their junior plumber two trips to mis-diagnose the issue. It was unplugged. Had I listened to Vlad, I’d be out a total of 3000 dollars to perform a major replacement of parts, all because they haven’t the first clue how to work with Tankless Water Heaters. Hint: check the panel which should have been illuminated and normally has copious error codes for almost everything - except no power. Beyond the obvious, the company refused to issue any kind of refund for the horrid experience. I was the bad guy because I mis-remembered whether there were two invoices or one - two visits but one invoice. Even the little things went wrong: three calls just to send over the estimate for repairs (that I didn’t need). They are now over-priced and under-performing. Use at your own risk. I’ll leave the original contents and mark them as such because Jason as a plumber was fast, efficient, and accurate in his work. I’m not sure what’s changed besides the new hire, but a plumber you can trust is worth a lot. A plumber you can’t trust and can’t count on is dangerous to your finances and to your home.

Very poor customer service and really bad service. What use to cost $90 for a simple main line snake cost $316. When I asked why it was so expensive, the tech said “location, you live in Los Gatos”. Desperate to get the drain fixed, I agreed after verifying there was a warranty - 30 days. Two days later, the line clogs again. I called and they said they could come out in 2 days! I insisted they come out ASAP. The same tech, a young man who obviously hates his job, came out to service the line. By this time it was dark, so in preparation, I setup lights and power to make the clean out faster. The plumber boy was so irritated that he had to come back refused to snake the line saying I had a problem with the pipes and because there wasn’t a back up he wasn’t going to snake the line. I told him the sewage reseeded because we hadn’t used the water in over 6 hours and I cleaned up the mess. He argued with me saying I had a problem with the pipe and he wasn’t going to snake the line. So I paid $316 for what? 30 day guarantee? Nope. I will make it my mission to see the don’t scam any of my neighbors. Don’t patronize Clear Drain Plumbing, it’s not worth it.

Clear Drain Plumbing | Jun 16, 2022

Based on the manufacturer’s service life, most water heaters life expectancy is about 8 to 12 years. This time line can vary based on how it was installed, have you been maintaining the unit correctly, and even the design of the unit itself. If the unit has not been installed 10 years, you might look for some specific common problems that happen to water heaters. What signs should I look for? You may see water buildup in your water heater, or leaking from the water heater. This is adefinite sign that something is wrong, and you should turn off the water heater power to the unit and call in a professional. You may see rust or what appears to be sediment in your water. This sediment is sinking to the bottom of your heater which may overheat the tank and break down the steel.

What are the benefits of hydro-jetting?

Clear Drain Plumbing | Jun 16, 2022
Clear Drain Plumbing | Jun 16, 2022

How hydro-jetting benefits your plumbing: Removes almost any clog: The intense force of the water from a hydro-jetter is enough to break apart the most adamant blockage. It can remove obstructions that even motorized drains snakes will have problems with. Safe for your pipes: Unlike chemical cleaners-or even some mechanical devices like powered drain snakes- our machines will not damage the inside of your pipes. Comprehensive: Where cleaning methods like drain snakes will only take care of large clogs, our machine cleans out the whole drainpipe, blasting away deposits along the walls. Different types of nozzle attachments allow our plumbers to reach every part of the drainpipe to make sure that no spot escapes the jet’s cleansing power. Long-lasting: Hydro-jetting will help prevent future problems in your drains. The highpressure scalding action of the water makes it more difficult for debris to begin to accumulate again.

Hydro Jetting is different from a snaking/cable drain cleaning machine. Hydro-Jetting is usually used when a snaking / cable drain cleaning machine cannot remove clogs. Hydro Jetting can also clean several hundred feet of drain pipe which a snaking / cable drain cleaning machine is often unable to penetrate. Hydro Jetting can even solve bacterial problems which often cause bad odors from pipes. Our Hydro-Jetting Service is the best in the industry and is able to clean pipes up to 24″ in diameter, whether in a Residential or Commercial setting. Our skilled plumbing technicians will come to your house and inspect your pipe to give you the best solution. Call us today to schedule your Hydro-Jetting Service!

What is a plumbing cleanout?

Clear Drain Plumbing | Jun 16, 2022
Clear Drain Plumbing | Jun 16, 2022

A plumbing cleanout (drain cleanout / sewer cleanout) provides a point of access to your home sewer systems where we can insert a drain cleaning machine to clear clogs or debris, or a camera to inspect the system. Sewer lines are frequently subject to clogs or slow draining due to build-up in the pipe. While build-up is not completely avoidable, there are things which contribute to it. The worse offender is putting grease down the disposer with hot water. When this occurs, the hot grease and water cool on their way toward the city’s sewer line. When grease cools, it sticks to the pipe and creates a build-up. Once any build-up exists, other waste will move slower or get caught on the build-up. Over time, grease build-up will eventually cause a clog or slow draining pipes and must be cleaned out.
