Probably could argue for to be 3 stars, but fails to meet its potential when compared to another local library. Was extremely disappointed in the operational hours and policies related to keeping facility open during the pandemic and recent snow days. Not sure how the facility justifies closing during school snow days when all other businesses and offices are open. Makes sense that they are OPEN on school snow days so kids and families have somewhere to go to for educational access. Sadly, this appears to have been the theme ever since the pandemic started, which needs to stop. In contrast, other local facilities, moved to have safe, well thought out in person access to patrons significantly earlier. A library and its services are either essential to a community or not. Essential services should be the last to close, not the first. It’s a beautiful (and expensive) facility, which will hopefully live up to its promise.

You can call the library and ask, the phone number is listed online. Even if the book is not owned by the Dewitt library, you can request the book to be sent there from a different library. You can also do this over the phone, as long as you have your library card barcode on hand.
